PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Please have your child leave his/her personal toys at home unless it is toy sharing day or to be used as security or a sleeping
aid. it is distressing and frustrating to children to lose or misplace their toys or personal items and also difficult for the staff
to locate or identify. Children should not bring food, gum, pins, coins, and jewelry to the cetner as it can be unsafe.
EMERGENCY AND DISASTER PROCEDURES
The center will conduct earthquake and fire drills on a regular basis, so that the children will be aware and be prepared of any
precautions to take in case of emergency. Your child will be cared for until a parent or any authorized person comes to pick them up.
If evacuation is needed, we will be posting a written notice to inform you of the site to locate your child. Evacuation precedures are
posted by each exit door.
CHILD ABUSE REPORTING PROCEDURES
The California Child Abuse Reporting Law provides the legal basis for action to protect children and to allow intervention by public
agencies if a child is abused and maltreated.
Child Abuse Defines as:
- A child who is physically injured by other than accident means.
- A child who is sexually abused and exploited.
- A child who is subjected to unjustified punishment.
- A child who is neglected by an adult, a parent, child care provider, guardian or relative who fails to provide shelter, clothing,
medical care, adequate food and supervision.
Reporting child abuse should be done when a person either knows, suspects, or has seen the child being abused physically or verbally.
Under the mandatory child abuse law, California Penal Code Section 11161.5, the staff at Wonder World is required to report suspected
child abuse cases.
RIGHT OF LICENSING AGENCY
The state of California General Licensing Requirements, Section 101195 states:
The Department or licensing agency shall have the authority to interview children or staff and to inspect and audit child or facility records without prior
consent. The licensee shall make provisions for private interviews with any children or any staff member and for the examination of all records relating to
the operation of the facility. The licensing agency shall have the authority to observe the physical conditions which indicate abuse, neglect, or inappropriate
placement, and to have a licensed medical professional examine the child(ren).
